Rafael Moreno-Gómez-Toledano

Rafael Moreno-Gómez-Toledano, who specializes in Endocrine Disruptors, has focused the majority of his research career on investigating the impacts of bisphenol A (BPA) on the renal and cardiovascular systems. This paradigm encompasses chronic kidney disease and diabetic nephropathy in the renal context, as well as cellular senescence and necroptosis of the vascular endothelium. His latest work has identified new associations between emerging bisphenols that replace BPA (such as BPF or BPS) and diabetes, renal, and cardiovascular pathologies. Subsequently, he worked on creating bioinformatic models for analyzing miRNA targets in cardiovascular pathologies at the Ramón y Cajal Hospital. Currently, he is a professor in the Area of Human Anatomy and Embryology at the University of Alcalá in Spain.
